Are you serious? Mithun was #1 after 1985?!? Didn’t Big B have huge hits in 85 with Mard and Gerftaar, plus a another Hit in 84 with Sharaabi?
I can see Mithun being #2, but #1, I don’t think so!

Yeah, i am just using title of post as per magazine article. Media at that time always in hurry to put any one at number 1 in short absence of Amitabh (Political break). Even Raj babbar was written as next number 1 after Insaf ka taraazu .. loll. But Amitabh maintained his position till 1992 giving big openings one after other, though his success ratio lowered down post Ganga Jamuna Saraswati in 1988.

amitabh was quite overrated in the 70s. Dharmendra had more hit success than him, kaka also given 12 hits in from 1970 till 1974 as the lead hero.
