Praz Gold : CA$H (English, 2010)

I must say, I was expecting a B-grade thriller from CA$H, but nothing great. The film ended up being far better than expectations and I would say this is easily one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve seen in recent times, namely due to a commanding performance by Sean Bean who lives and breathes his eerie character Pyke Kubuc.

Director Steven Milburne Anderson directs the film as a dark comedy and the films tone in the first half echoes Coen Bros. in a number of ways. At times, I was reminded of the “small time” crime feel of say FARGO meets Sam Raimi’s A SIMPLE PLAN.
