My thoughts on CLICK (Hindi, 2010)

I’ve felt for a long time the Horror genre is one that has been criminally ignored for the most in Hindi film history. However of late, it’s been heartening to see more and more director’s try their hand at the genre, and after last year’s neat little surprise 13B, CLICK is a horror film that surprisingly works more than it doesn’t.

Heavily inspired from a number of films from Hollywood films like SHUTTER and STIR OF ECHOES to the Hindi horror film RAAZ (itself a remake of WHAT LIES BENEATH), CLICK surprises because it seamlessly translates into a film of its own as a modern day shock-fest borrowing as much from modern day Asian horror films like THE RING and THE GRUDGE than it does from modern day Hindi horror films courtesy of Vikram Bhatt and co.
