Bheja Fry – How MNIK can be termed as HIT?

Q: Despite the fact that MNIK will not be able to recover cost or reach at just breakeven, How MNIK can be termed as HIT?

A:  MNIK costs for FOX 105+ Crore including print and publicity. This cost includes satellite and video rights/Excludes music rights. MNIK need to fetch 105 Crore for FOX just recovery. Recovery is not possible at the moment. Total remuneration worldwide would be around 120-130 Crore which will give DS of around 65-75 Crore. This will yield to Loss of 20-25 Crore. Despite of decent numbers from domestic market and very good numbers from overseas, Price tag will fail for MNIK. Losing proposition can never be termed as HIT.

Q: Does Three idiots really broke Sholay boxoffice record ?

A: Not really, Sholay collect 15 Crore in its first run of three years from 1975 – 1978. If we adjusted it today, it will come close to 275 Crore. But story doesn’t ends here, In its next run of 8 years (1978 – 1985), Sholay adds another 15 Crore which is difficult to adjust unless we have detail of each penny from respective year. Still 125 Crore adjusted figure is not ruled out. So overall Sholay adjusted collections will be approx 400+ Crore. Three Idiots is just half way(200 Crore) of Sholay.

Q: Why you add extra 8 Crore for Paa ? And how despite just 31-32 Crore NETT, Paa is HIT ?

A: I am not here to add or deduct from actual numbers. Budget of Paa was 17 Crore including print and publicity for AB corp. Big pictures took 22% commission for distribution.  Paa earned 39 Crore NETT and 17.5 Crore distribution share. Big pictures got 3.5 Crore for distribution commission. AB corp. got 14 Crore NETT as their share. Satellite rights sold for 10 Crore. Music and Home video rights fetch another 5 Crore. This yields to Nett profit of Revenue(14+10+5) – Cost(17) = 12 Crore for AB corp. In terms of profitability, 12 Crore Nett profit is among top 5 of 2009 and can be easily termed as HIT/SuperHit (looking at the fact that even some losing proposition are termed as super-hit in past).

  1. thanks Yakuza Bhai.

    MNIK is flop!

Could you also put up a BO prediction post for KCK plz? it’d be nice to discuss that movie with fellow bloggers. thank u

  2. CHECK THIS OUT folks:

    http://www.bollywoodhungama.com/forum/read.php?10,2527173

After playing the under-dog in two successive films Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and My Name Is Khan (we aren’t counting his guest appearance in Dulha Mil Gaya) Shah Rukh will be flying across the sky in Ra.1. The estimated budget of the film to be produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies, is Rs 100 crores.

Shah Rukh along with the film’s director Anubhav Sinha and journalist-writer Mushtaq Sheikh, has co-written Ra.1 and will be credited as one of the writers.

    1. v.expensive movie
    2. i dnt trust the director – didnt he make CASH? 😉
    3. Mushtaq Sheikh (SRK’s mate) is one of the writer’s of this movie – WTF??

not sure on this but let’s hope it works out well for SRK. he really needs RA1 to be a big hit.

    • Most revealing piece in there :

“The SRK brand of humour was intact when told that My Name Is Khan doesn’t look like a Karan Johar film. At his deadliest deadpan best SRK retorted, “Yeah, even I felt like that when I first saw it. I told Karan, ‘Arrey yaar yeh tum ne kaisi picture banayee hai?”

Looks like SRK wasnt happy with MNIK to begin with.

  3. Biggest scam ever by boxoffice india :

Boxoffice india was 41.5 Crore upto wednesday, Then they give 46.5 Crore for first week … How come MNIK can generate 5 crore on thursday ??? Even if we take 11 crore second weekend, thursday can never be more than 2 crore. It means 43.5 crore as par boxoffice india reporting upto wednesday. BOI eat their own words and throw figures from thin air.

I am 100% believe on bollybusiness numbers, Yakuza is reporting consistant figures and his 11 crore second weekend indication was given way before others. I am 1005 supporter and follower of bollybusiness from now on …. Fuckkkkkk BOI .. Fuckkkk Taran adarsh

  4. yakuza your prediction of Atithi Tuk Kab jaouge?

  5. sagrikg
boi dont have 5cr for thursday. they have 42 till wednesday, and 45 for the first week, so thursday is 3 cr. BUT BUT ALL this numbers were estimates and they have 46.05 actual for the first week
so no scam at all let alone biggest ever lolll

businessofcinema have 48, and boxofficeindia.co.in have also 48, and taran too

so boi have undereported this time

    • All BOC, BOI.co.in, Taran are getting numbers from FOX and using them. FOX is overreporting for obvious reasons. They don’t want to be associated with a flop. Believe it or not, that is the truth.

  6. Fox’s official figure to international media is a lot less than what these sites are quoting, check ABC news on top 5 figure, the actual net of MNIK is 26 crore 1st weekend, I dont know why those sites dont pick on this, Fox are just lieing to indian media who are easily guallaible.

  7. Look at the link here and FOX is lieing.

    ABC News

No. 5 was Fox’s “My Name Is Khan,” a 9/11-related drama about a Mumbai Muslim (played by Bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan) with Asperger’s syndrome. The English-language and Hindi Indian production opened at No. 1 in India ($9.2 million from 1,450 screens) and generated an overall weekend tally of $14.2 million from 1,572 screens in seven markets.

So here they are given different and these are official releases, whih means MNIK actually earned 26 -27 crore net 1st weekend, nt 33 or 29.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wirestory?id=9837397&page=1

    • That is equal to Yakuza’s figure of 27.5 weekend. BOI is definitely overreporting for MNIK and the rest dont have any credibility to begin with.

  8. good going Yakuza

thnaks for putting true fact. all the best……..

  9. anoyhe thing can u put true overseas collection????? ples

  10. acc to Taran who gave good review for Paa and MNIK, Paa did only 31cr in india total while MNIK did 48cr. acc to BOI Paa did 31cr in total and MNIk did 46cr.

Yakuza seems to have adjusted 8cr for Paa from MNIK. Good going dude.

  11. I see too much interest in Bachchan fans in proving MNIk a flop…. and funnily enough they say bachchan is beyong bo. LOL

    • Its not about big B fans, people here are just trying to prove the fact that MNIK is an average movie ad not a blockbuster as claimed by SR and Kjo and media. Also there are too many people who things that SRK # 1 status is overly hyped by SRK himself and his friends and media. He claims that he has been # 1 for almost 2 decades, when the fact is he had been in the industry for just 2 decades an in the last 5 years there has not been single movie that groosed the max for the year, Amir Kahn has been doing it for the last 2 years and before that was Aksay and other stars and this year too MNIK wont be te higest grosser for 2010 cus there are lots of good movies coming out

      • SRK wasn’t no. 1 in the 90s either .. it was Salman for most of the time .. SRk was close but Salman was ahead.

In 200s SRK went ahead but he was never the King he claims to be .. 2001 he had a superhit in multistarrer K3G and hit in Mohabbatein and lots of flops. Later KHNH was a hit in 2003, MHN and VZ hits in 2004. Its only in 2007 he finally got blockbuster in CDI and OSO and followed up in 2008 with another RNBDJ. 2009 onwards he has been under-performing again.

So just 2 years (2007-08) when he did really did good with 3 back-to-back blockbusters .. a “king”‘s performance? probably but just for 2 years, not 2 decades.

  12. MNIK got all media suuport nd critics’ help ( actually I would like 2 call it massive, bt it is a great failre. Veer got negetive media support nd was bashed by da critics, still it has been an above average affair. Now who can deny SRK buys his popularity ?

    • not only popularity he buys awards too, and this year too he will use all his influence to get himself a national award for MNIK, cus he was telling that he has the space for national ward in his shelf

  13. Shahrukh ass lickers read this http://www.ibosnetwork.com/newsmanager/templates/template1.aspx?a=22050&z=9

  14. Dear Yakuza,
PAA is superhit, why u r saying its HIT?through ROI PAA is coming SUPERHIT,just check it again SIR?

  15. its impossible for bollywood that someone will cross SHOLAY record, the ROI of Sholay is coming 3000% and 3I is near to 300%,so how much difference,Sholay net business is coming over 700 crores.Awesome film.

  16. shakir paa is just a ruaway hit and not a superhit ibos are the lickers of bacchans and all hindu actors the most correct fact is that they are showing high figures for all non muslim actors like KI who did 48cr nett business they are showing it did more than wanted and lak similarily they are showing 10cr more for a uselesss movie paa and 10cr less fro salman movie veer.

  17. yakuza, are you sure that MNIK rights dont include satellite and dvd?
If they are included then MNIK will be average.

  18. i laugh on one thing just look at this sholay released in 1975 or so and netts 14-15cr and 18or 19 years later hum aapke hain kaun earns 65cr nett but even after that almost all the sites try to down play the film even after 16years after hahk release its inflation adjusted nett is just 160cr which seems to be complete lie hahk earns 4times more than sholay in 18yrs time but according to trade it has surpassed hahk and even after 16years hahk is just 165cr the inflation has risen after 1990s most when the india started to develop at a faster rate that in 1994 the tickets cost are mere rupees 10 and there was no multiplex in india at all so by which calculations my friend sholay is bigger than hahk and if sholay is bigger then hahk will be much bigger than sholay its just a game to give respect to big b and to downplay hahk just go and check guniess book of world record the most popular movie in india is hahk and not sholay

pls yakuza like sholay give roi of hahk as well

  19. The decade that was

SAME TIME around, a decade ago, star daughters were making a debut. Current heart-throb Shah Rukh Khan was getting launched, Rajshri’s success continued and it was entering the Guinness Book of World Records with “Hum Aapke Hain Koun”…! Today’s widely acclaimed Shekhar Kapur made international headlines with “Bandit Queen”. “Maachis” had ignited the Parliament, Deepa Mehta’s “Fire” evoked vandalism and J. P. Dutta’s “Border” turned the entire nation patriotic. Glimpses of the last decade:

“Agneepath”, first of Mukul Anand’s trilogy with Amitabh Bachchan is rejected by the audience because of Amitabh’s “Godfather” inspired voice, in 1990. Kamal Haasan plays a dwarf in “Appu Raja” and to make sure that the critics don’t call it a gimmick, shoots all his scenes outdoors. Indra Kumar makes his debut as a director with “Dil” and becomes superstitious about shooting at least one song of all his future films around his lucky tree in Ooty. “Ghayal” brings Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi into prominence.

The year 1991 is the year of star daughters. Pooja Bhatt (“Daddy”), Raveena Tandon (“Patthar Ke Phool”), Karisma Kapoor (“Prem Qaidi”), Manisha Koirala and Vivek Mushran (“Saudagar”), Madhoo and Ajay Devgan (“Phool Aur Kaante”), Zeba Bakhtiar (“Heena”) make their debut. Shashi Kapoor makes his directorial debut with the Indo-Russian project “Ajooba”, Randhir Kapoor with his father’s incomplete film, “Heena” and Nana Patekar with “Prahaar”. Mani Ratnam is introduced to the Hindi film industry via “Anjali”, the story of a special child who brings joy into people’s lives. The second of Mukul Anand’s trilogy “Hum” is a mega hit, more remembered for the foot- tapping song `Jumma chumma de de…’ Honey Irani makes her debut as a screenplay writer in “Lamhe” by Yash Chopra. The film bombs in India because of the incestuous overtones but is a major success abroad. To an extent, it opens the overseas markets for Bollywood films. Hridaynath Mangeshkar composes fabulous music for Gulzar’s “Lekin”.

“Bekhudi” launches Kajol and Kamal Sadanah. Raj Kanwar’s “Deewana” launches Shah Rukh Khan in 1992. Divya Bharti makes her debut in David Dhawan’s “Shola Aur Shabnam”. The young actress later dies under tragic circumstances. After directing the TV serial, “Nupur”, Hema Malini turns film maker with “Dil Aashna Hai”. “Khuda Gawah”, the last of the Mukul Anand’s trilogy with Bachchan, precedes the five-year-long sabbatical for the actor. It’s Mukul’s last complete film before he passes away during the making of “Dus”. Aziz Mirza makes his first film as director, “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.”

David Dhawan’s “Aankhen” is the biggest success of 1993 and marks the beginning of a series of comedies, mostly with Govinda in the lead. Shah Rukh Khan enters the major league of contemporary actors with “Baazigar”. Director Rajkumar Santoshi and Meenakshi Sheshadri have differences of opinion during the making of “Damini”. Sheshadri loses the National Award for Best Actress by one mark to Dimple Kapadia in “Rudaali”, Kalpana Lajmi’s ode to Dimple Kapadia. Sanjay Dutt gets arrested under TADA during the making of Subhash Ghai’s “Khal-nayak”. Madhuri Dixit’s `Choli ke peeche…’ creates a major furore amongst women activists. After an unsuccessful “Anjali”, the Mumbai audience is enthralled by Mani Ratnam’s “Roja” about terrorism in Kashmir. “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja”, a film by Boney Kapoor and directed by Satish Kaushik, in the making for five years, costing five crores is finally released and flops.

A lot of English films are dubbed in Hindi (“Alladin”, “Jurassic Park”, “Speed”, etc.). The trend that started in 1994 continues in the following years. “1942: A Love Story” by director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, takes up the subject of patriotism after a long time. The original choice for the film is Madhuri Dixit and Aamir Khan to be replaced by Manisha Koirala and Anil Kapoor. The film marks Javed Akhtar’s best work as a lyricist with “Ek ladki ko dekha…” It is a comeback film for R. D. Burman who passes away without enjoying his success. In “Andaaz Apna Apna”, the two Khans, Aamir and Salman, come together for the first time in an out and out comedy by Rajkumar Santoshi. After “Salaam Bombay”, Mira Nair excels in “Mississippi Masala”, a film about immigrants from Kenya and the consequent adjustments they have to make. “Hum Aapke Hain Koun”…! by Sooraj Barjatya is a huge success and enters the Guinness Book of World Records. `Shaadi’ songs and celebrations make a comeback in Hindi films. Madhuri’s derriere, the purple sari and `Didi tera dewar deewana…’ becomes synonymous with the film.

“Coolie No. 1” in 1995 marks the beginning of Govinda’s obsession with using `No. 1′ in the title of his films. David Dhawan and other film makers too include No. 1 in their film titles hoping for success. Yash Raj Films’ “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” launches son Aditya Chopra as director and the film is a phenomenal success. “Karan Arjun” by Rakesh Roshan stars Salman and Shah Rukh Khan together for the first time. “Prem” originally to be directed by Shekhar Kapur is eventually made by Satish Kaushik. Tabu was to have made her debut in “Prem” but the extensive delay in its making results in “Vijaypath” being her first release. Ram Gopal Varma re-packages actress Urmila Matondkar in “Rangeela”. Aamir Khan plays a `tapori” and excels yet again. Sanjay Dutt’s arrest under TADA, forces Subhash Ghai to replace him with Anil Kapoor in “Trimurti”. Directed by Mukul Anand, the film bombs at the box office. Ghai remarks, “You may take a director who is better than yourself but his vision doesn’t necessarily have to concur with yours.”

Sridevi returns to acting after a year-long gap, with “Army” in 1996. Even though the film is a non-star affair, it gets 100 per cent opening. Shekhar Kapur does the country proud with his stupendous film, “Bandit Queen”. Seema Biswas plays Phoolan Devi to perfection. Ms. Universe, Sushmita Sen makes a debut in Mahesh Bhatt’s “Dastak”. Sudhir Mishra’s “Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin” launches Tara Despande and Smriti Mishra. Plus Channel gets into film production. The story of one night, Mishra’s labour of love, goes unnoticed due to a mismanaged release. Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited, releases “Tere Mere Sapne” with Chandrachur Singh, Arshad Warsi and Priya Gill making their debut. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, choreographer for “1942: A Love Story”, makes his first feature “Khamoshi: The Musical”. The film receives critical acclaim but fails commercially because the public can’t accept Nana Patekar, known for his fiery dialogue delivery, in the role of a deaf and mute. Gulzar’s “Maachis” on terrorism raises controversy. After its release, the Parliament sends the film for a review but the Censor Board doesn’t alter its stand.

Basu Bhattacharya, after a long hibernation, makes “Aastha” exploring a woman’s need for sexual gratification, in 1997. “Aur Pyar Ho Gaya” launches Ms. World, Aishwarya Rai. J. P. Dutta’s “Border”, undoubtedly the most important release of the year, sweeps all the awards at various functions. This is the first patriotic film that doesn’t mince words; the enemies are referred to as `Pakistanis’ and not the usual `Sarhad ke us paar”. During a screening of the film at Uphaar theatre in Delhi, a devastating fire results in many deaths. Yash Chopra makes a young love story “Dil To Pagal Hai”. It is unusual in the sense, the origins of the characters are not established. The musical score by Uttam Singh is a total winner. Vinod Khanna turns producer with “Himalay Putra” and launches son Akshaye Khanna. Indra Kumar’s “Ishq” a multi-starrer, in keeping with the trend of the 1980s, releases with Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgan, Juhi Chawla and Kajol. Mehul Kumar’s “Mrityudaata’ which marks Amitabh Bachchan’s return after a five-year sabbatical, is a disaster. “Mrityudand”, Prakash Jha’s film, focusses on women protagonists (played by Madhuri Dixit, Shabana Azmi and Shilpa Shirodkar), who rebel against the oppression of feudal lords. Pooja Bhatt turns producer in Tanuja Chandra’s maiden script about female infanticide and the agony of a eunuch, “Tamanna”.

Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda play pranksters in David Dhawan’s “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” (1998). Films like Kaizad Gustaad’s “Bombay Boys” and Nagesh Kukunoor’s “Hyderabad Blues” set a foundation for small budget, bilingual and offbeat films. The change is augmented by Deepa Mehta’s “Fire” and Mira Nair’s “Kamasutra”. Director Mani Ratnam after “Roja” and “Bombay”, fails commercially in “Dil Se”… even though the film has brilliant cinematography and fabulous music by A. R. Rahman. The song “Chaiyya Chaiyya…” continues to be a chartbuster till date. Tanuja Chandra makes her debut as a director in “Dushman” and Vikram Bhatt in “Ghulam”. Khandala becomes the most popular hill station, thanks to the popular song “Aati kya Khandala…”. After a break of 17 years, Jaya Bachchan makes a comeback in Govind Nihalani’s “Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa”. Yash Johar’s son, Karan Johar makes a debut with “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, following the tradition of feel-good films like “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”. “Satya” by Ram Gopal Varma and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, two films belonging to totally different genres, are strong contenders for awards. Abbas-Mustan’s “Soldier” launches Preity Zinta and Mahesh Bhatt takes a bow after winning a National Award for the best film on national integration, “Zakhm”.

The year 1999 is one of drought with the exception of four films that set the cash registers ringing, “Biwi No. 1”, “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”, “Hum Saath-Saath Hain” and “Taal”.

Sanjay Dutt scores a hat-trick with “Daag – The Fire”, “Vaastav” and “Khoobsurat”. Shabana Azmi wins her fifth National Award for Best Actress in “Godmother”, a noteworthy example in an industry where actresses are written off after a particular age.

A record of 20 directors make their debuts: Rishi Kapoor, E. Niwas, Andalib Sultanpuri, Sanjay Chhel, Shakeel Noorani, Shrikant Sharma, Subhash Sehgal, Raj Kaushal, Gyan Sahay, Madhur Bhandarkar, Desh Deepak, Veeru Devgan, Mahesh Kothari, Shrabani Deodhar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ahathian, E.V.V. Satyanarayana, John Mathew Matthan, Mahesh Mathai and Piyush Jha.

  20. @ NITESH

keep up the good work buddy.

    @ Rosh

agree. am 19 and i remember 10-15 years ago Salman was ahead of SRK. No one can deny that Salman helped KKHH become what it did. SRK was fabulous in the film though

    • lol naveed funny salman made kkhh a hit u mean have u lost it srk was the leading actor salman was only supporting about for 10 minute long how could he make the film a hit and lol nitesh how did sanjay score a hatrick ok the first two vaastav and daag were moderate hits and khoobsoorat wasnt a hit it was a flop so ur wrong there too many salman fans on this site people talk about what he did in past who cares whats he doing now making shit films atleast srk is still making good films like he did in past and this idiotic site calls mnik not a hit how can that be possibly when i read on there sites and new chnnels that its heading for hit/superhit in india and all time blockbuster overseas this site doesnt know whats it on about there just salman fans here

      • lol

yeah MNIK is on its way to ATBB. better collections than 3 idots. i think your the fourth idiot. lol

MNIK had a excellent week due to the hype. but it has crashed badly. lol

atleast Salman doesnt need KJO, Chopra clan. he acts on his own terms.

        • lol first of all looks whose talking your the real idiot they should make a sequel with u staring in it but i guess there no point because you’ll be the audience ur self naveed lol. first of all let me clear u did i say mnik has better collections than 3 idiots read my comments care fully open ur eyes i said it will do hit/super hit in india atbb overseas and last you said salman doesnt need kjo and chopra well btw i dont think any of those high profile directers woudl want to work the flop khan (salman khan) and btw im not sharukh fan i was just clearing ur nonsense opinions which u make up.

      • Arjun MNIK is ATBB overseas so these SRK haters can eat their vacuous words.

  21. Sholay is uncomparable film,in 1975 sholay did 15 crore in first run,its awesome,I think no film wll break just one run of sholay, leave it full time collections,

  22. @arjun r u out of ur mind saying mnik a hit first of all dis movie has fallen flat around 85% theters r running empty audience has rejected d movie and about indian media dey r paid bcoz frm first day d r shouting mnik is a hit and taran is pet dog of karan he is also barking 60cr the truth is it has not also reached 55cr d fig by indian media r hyped and mnik is a flop

    • MNIK is a hit you can check out boxoffice india if u dont believe me. It is also heaidng towards being ATBB overseas and since I live in the UK I only care how it does here and it has made more money than 3 Idiots here. Because we have taste in the UK.

  23. yeah…Navdeep right its hit in india all time bb overseas summing up its a bb all over..

  24. @arjun, u r not only pathetic but also stupid. According 2 Box Office India, MNIK’S distributore share z only 34 crore nd lifetym will be 37 crore. Despite Veer got only 46 crore net lifetym, its DS has been 30 crore………nd remember, it was 25 crore less budgeted film dan MNIK. If Veer doesn’t get a hit tag with 30 crore DS, how can u expect MNIK getting a ATBB with 37 crore DS and 25 crore more budget to cover……….( Veer had most of his earnings from single screens, so Da DS is relatively high, whereas MNIK has got most of his earnings from multiplexes, so it’s DS is low…….nd we all know dat DS is da thing dat matters most )

    • Guyz SRK fans r da most deluded in da world. its coz dere idol is deluded himself. procalimimg hez no1 etc. lol

DEVDAS, MNIK many many films da media have hyped wrongly or given wrong facts.

da bottom line is dat dis film was given such hype, dat haz never been seen before. da media r SRK arse lickers, especially Taran. FACT. ebven den da film has underperformed. lol

i thought da film was ok, but now after all da shameful publicity etc. I think da film has got what it deserves. I personally will never watch a SRK film in a cinema ever agin.

      • Big deal he has enough fans for it not to matter if u do or not.

      • ohh lol proves my point u actually went to go watch mnik and u thought its ok so then wats the reason why u dont want to call it a hit or u dont want it to be a hit shows my point ur just a salman fan after you know ur self that mnik is a hit ur just showing ur ego against srk for no reason or may be becasue salman and srk break up has affected u becasue if srk salman were friends u wouldnt criticise srk films

    • lol very funny this site is pathetic and people like u and also others r pathetic too and add more this site is fake perhaps they should change the name of this site and call it salman bummers site and btw im not srk fan i only admire aamir khan 1st but i like sharukh over salman and i guess u people should after all wat is there in salman hes losing is touch.

    • lol box office india have already clamined mnik a hit so shut upsrijan

  25. MINK is a record breaker overseas and you should be proud that SRK was on the biggest talk show in the UK and people are curious about Bollywood thanks to MNIK and SRK. We love this industry Bollybusiness only exists because of this industry so why are you all so keen to bring down a movie and star that is actually doing wonders for Bollywood? It’s like biting the hand that feeds you. Fox will make back 75crores at least from the worldwide box office receipts and the rest they will make back from DVDs and Satellite rights. You should be happy that after Saawariya and Chandi Chowk Hollywood finally makes profit from Bollywood because it will give them courage to fund more movies. You need to wake up and stop being so negative about MNIK and SRK. Great film and every other box office website says its a Hit in India and ATBB overseas.

    • @ Nads

yaara thats not the point. MNIK was shown on ITV news, Jonathon Ross show. It was promoted heavily. I knew overseas that it will do well. Still, i can gurantee that you can talk to anyone here in England and people will say that 3 DIOTS is far better than MNIK. FACT.

So considering all the hype, publicity etc I believe and many fair experts believe that the film has underperformed.

  26. had ho gayi yaar
srk n kj ne 40 cr ki film 100 cr main sell kari
all sites r showing different figures.
60 cr ka profit pehle hi kama liya.
so he gave money to all media n famous sites.
only komal nahata, bollybusiness, bollyplus r saying correct.
mnik week 1= 44 cr nett
    mnik week 2 = 58-59 cr nett.
