Sheeru GOLD : VEER (Hindi, 2009)
ALERT ALERT ALERT Veer is on it’s away.
He’s yelling and screaming in almost every scene to get his point across. Anil Sharma fails in the first half, regains himself in the second half and then falls flat on his face in the end. The first half of this movie is basically focused on Veer and Yashodhara’s love story with London as it’s backdrop. How Veer meets this fair skinned beauty and wins her heart. With Surili Ankhiyon Wali playing in the background after every 15 minutes, we get to see Zarine Khan’s expressionless face and Salman Khan’s witty ways. Towards the second half, the film picks up it’s pace and steers itself towards an interesting sub-plot. Everything seems safe, with Veer entering Madhapur disguised as a prince to investigate and inform. Along with all of this the romance continues between Veer and Yashodhara, which means we get to hear Surili Ankhiyon Wali in the background over and over again to the point where we want to tell Rahat (the singer) to shut up. It’s a melodious track that has potential to be a chart buster, but come on guys, there is a limit to everything. The battle in the end should of been big in every way. But it seemed very rushed.
