My take on COP OUT (English, 2010)
I’m a huge fan of the “buddy” movie genre. Films like 48 HOURS, ANOTHER 48 HOURS, LETHAL WEAPON series, STAKEOUT, THE LAST BOY SCOUT, TANGO & CASH right to recent films like MONEY TALKS hold immense repeat value for me over the years, however in today’s time when homage and throwback is the new flavour, I was disappointed that no recent film makers had been able to tap into the full potential of the buddy movie genre. Does COP OUT do the trick? Not 100%, but it gets there 90% and is the best effort I’ve seen in recent years.
